Jeff Anderson – “I Am Snowboarding” – Tribute

November 3rd, 2009

From my boys at MODA3. I remember the day I heard Jeff Anderson died. Mixture of anger, sadness, and disbelief. Can’t believe that was in ’03. The 2003 Nixon Jibfest video is STILL my favorite because of Jeff’s trick vocab in his sections. Unbelievable progression for 2003.

February 23, 2003 the snowboard world lost one of its greats. In fact, if he was still around today its pretty safe to say he would be the biggest name in snowboarding. Unfortunately for us Jeff Anderson died before that could happen. He did however influence thousands of riders and pushed the progression of snowboarding to help shape what it has become today.

Today would be Jeff’s 30th birthday and to commemorate him over 30 of the industry’s biggest artists and photographers have come together to create one of a kind pieces that will be sold November 12th, 13th, and 14th. These three days will be filled with events celebrating the life and times of Jeff Anderson. All proceeds from the events will go towards the JLA Memorial Fund. You can find a schedule of events and how to purchase prints here.

Snowboarding

Two of the world’s best pro rollerbladers…snowboarding and skiing.

February 9th, 2009

Caught this hotness last night.

Chris Haffey and Brian Aragon are pretty much as good as it gets right now in the game of rollerbootin’. These clips are so sick, especially Aragon’s b/s 360 to front rodeo 5 off the toes! Lovely. Chris Haffey is the one skiing, and Aragon is the one shredding gnar. The song is by The Octopus Project – “Porno Disaster”…buy their stuff too. So good.

Flashback: 2007 HD Snowboarding Trailer.

February 4th, 2009

Mack Dawg Productions is one of snowboarding’s elite snowboard production groups. I was just messing around on Vimeo and found this breathtaking HD trailer for “Picture This” that dropped in Fall of 2007 made by MDP. You’ve got to go to Vimeo’s site to watch the HD-ness, however.
