Anyone ever used a microfiche/microfilm reader before?!

Pardon me for being young, but these things are crazy. We’ve all seen them in movies and stuff. I’m researching the race riots in Milwaukee, WI in the late 1960s and the only copies of the Milwaukee Journal are stored on these films. It’s a little after 10pm and I’m in the Marquette library basement sifting through these things and formulating a thesis for an analytical paper on the riots. Pretty interesting stuff.

Here’s a previously TWITPIC’d picture of my man Kyle Parsons and I working on our Microfilm game.

COOL WEBSITE ALERT: Silophone.net

February 10th, 2009

Just caught this during my sound design class. Uses a silo (yes, a farming/grain silo) and all kinds of other audio stuff to morph and manipulate sounds to make one hell of a cacophony.

Silophone.net

Pretty sweet stuff. Leave it to the french Canadians to be that awesome.
