Hey internets.
Grandma Alice passed away Friday, January 30th at 5:30pm, in the company of my uncle Mark. My mom and her sister were about 4 hours away heading up to see her…but she needed to be elsewhere. Apparently immediately after uncle Mark said that she could go and that we were okay with her leaving, she took her last breath and went away. A few weeks ago my mom asked her what she was going to be reincarnated as, she simply said “music”. As my mom and aunt got to my grandma’s house in Balsam Lake, WI, they heard the radio from the upstairs bathroom playing – and the switch was turned off. I’m still waiting for my sign, but I know it’s coming soon. It’s so nice having a crazy and weird belief system to rely on, one more pro of having former hippies for parents.
Definitely a huge influence on me and she’ll leave behind many great memories and moments. The funeral is this Saturday, so I’ll be heading out of Milwaukee/Waukesha area on Thursday or Friday with my dad. Even though he and my mom and divorced, he still loved her, and wants to be there. I went to our Unitarian Universalist church this morning to see my dad, stepmom, and grandma. The focus of the service was Joy and Happiness and appreciating the little things. Definitely a fitting piece of words for this last week.
Anyway…blogging as usual starting up again Monday. Got a bunch of new music and weird stuff.
